Where will astronauts be safe to conduct their research on the comet? What equipment and/or astronauts should we move and where? How long will this take? The Crisis Management Team will use probabilities to work together and manage the situation. They will make any necessary evacuation plans.

Real time data
The Crisis Management Team members will receive the following information during the mission:

• Location of astronauts.
• Location of the lunar bases (latitude and longitude).
• Probability of danger of each base. This data will proceed from the Moon Mapping Team.
• Estimated time of impact. This data will proceed from the Comet Team.

 

Calculations
During the mission students will use the data feeds to perform the following calculations:

• What is the distance between the bases?
• How long does it take to move astronauts to a new location?
• How long it takes to move equipment?

 

Decisions
The Crisis Management Team members will need to answer very important questions based on the updates coming from the other teams and their own calculations:

• What location would be safest for the astronauts to do their comet research?
• What equipment should we move and where?
• How long will this take?
• Is there any lunar base in danger?
• Should we evacuate a lunar base?
